Wilgus Fire Control, Inc. was started in 1960 by Charles Wilgus and quickly expanded. Dry chemical fire extinguishers were replacing Soda and Acid fire extinguishers and the new pressurized ones required special training and equipment. Additionally, the restaurant industry had a new fire system for its fire prone cooking hoods. Employee training and manufacture seminars became, and still is today, commonplace for all technicians at Wilgus Fire Control, Inc. Presently, employees of Wilgus Fire Control, Inc. hold more Certificates of Training than all other companies north of Sacramento and have 194 years combined experience.

With this education and training program in place, Wilgus Fire Control, Inc. soon grew to touch all upper borders of California. We currently have 13 fully equipped service vehicles that patrol the north state. Our California Contractors License covers Fire Protection Systems and all Electrical. Our Contractors License has remained unblemished since the beginning over two decades ago.

Safeguard Fire Protection began in 1984 as a single man operation focused on fire extinguisher service. In 1995, Safeguard Fire Protection purchased Wilgus Fire Control, Inc. which added full spectrum service from fire extinguishers to fire suppression system service and now fire alarm service. Safeguard Fire Protection has grown from a one man operation to approximately 20 employees. We are proud to provide the north state with some of the finest technicians in the industry.
